Turgunov Yermek Meyramovich

Turgunov Yermek Meyramovich, born in 1969, has 2 higher educations: in 1991 he graduated with honors from the Karaganda State Medical Institute with a degree in General Medicine, in 2021 he was awarded a bachelor's degree in business and management from Almaty Management University.

From 1991 to 2022, he worked at the Department of Surgical Diseases of Medical University of Karaganda on the basis of the Regional Clinical Hospital, combining clinical work with scientific and pedagogical activities:

1991-1993 - clinical internship;

1993-1996 - postgraduate studies;

1996-1997 - assistant of the department;

1997-2000 - doctoral student of the department;

2000-2003 - associate professor of the department;

2003-2020 - head of the department;

2020-2022 - professor of the department.

In 1996 he was awarded the degree of candidate of medical sciences, in 2002 - the title of associate professor, in 2006 - the degree of doctor of medical sciences, in 2008 - the title of professor of medicine.

He has the highest qualification category of a surgeon.

In different periods, he served as head of the emergency surgical department, deputy director for surgery, member of the coordinating center for surgery and urology of the Health Department of the Karaganda region.

Member of the working groups of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the development of State Educational Standard - 2006 and State Standard for Residency - 2009, the educational program "Internship in the specialization of surgery", the standard for the provision of surgical care, the author of over 10 clinical protocols for diagnosis and treatment.

Chairman of the commissions of the Eurasian Accreditation Center for institutional and specialized accreditation of medical organizations.

Accredited independent medical expert.

Head of 6 research topics that received grant funding from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and 2 research topics of internal grant funding from KSMU, head of clinical trials of pharmaceuticals (phases 1 and 2).

Supervisor of defended dissertations (1 MD, 1 PhD, 6 PhD), currently approved as a scientific consultant for 5 PhD theses.

Chairman of the Dissertation Council of Karaganda Medical University in the specialty "Medicine" and "Nursing", a temporary member of dissertation councils at other universities in Kazakhstan. Member of the editorial board of the Journal "Bulletin of the Novgorod State University" and the editorial board of the republican Journal "Medicine and Ecology".

Author of over 300 scientific papers, including 10 monographs, 31 teaching aids, 40 patents and intellectual property certificates, 20 articles in journals indexed by Web of Science and Scopus, h-index - 3 (Scopus).

Since 2009 he has been a full member of the International Society of Surgery.

From 2012 to 2021 - the initiator of the creation and head of the "Surgical Association of the Karaganda Region".

He speaks Russian and English, passed certification cycles of post-graduate education in science, education and clinical medicine in the countries of near and far abroad.

He was awarded the medal named after P.M. Pospelov "For contribution to the development of KSMU" (2015), badge "Densaulyk saktau іsіnіn uzdіgі" (2019), "The best teacher of the university" (2008, 2011).
