The department of Pharmaceutical disciplines was organized by the July 1, 2002.  The first head of the department was professor Abdullabekova Raisa Musulmanbekovna, doctor of pharmacy, one of the leading experts in the field of pharmaceutical manufactures technology and organization of pharmacy.
  In the period 2004 - 2007 years the department was headed professor Baymukhambetov Marat Abilakimovich, , doctor of pharmacy, an expert in the field of pharmacognosy and phytochemistry.
  Since 2007, department has been headed Losseva  Irina.
At various times, the teachers  Amantaeva M.E., Burabaeva G.M. and Kalimova G., Asmagambetova M.T., Rakhimzhanova G.M. worked in the department.
  Since 2007, the chemistry department  entered as a course within the department of pharmaceutical disciplines.

  The department of general and analytical chemistry was organized in  august 1950. The first state the department consisted of 3 people, and c.c.s., associate professor S.T.Omarov was head of the department. From 1955 to 1964 Valentine Vilgelmovich Cruze headed the chemistry department. He graduated from the Faculty of Agricultural Chemistry of the Odessa Agricultural Institute on a chemistry specialty. Cruze spent a great job of organizing science in the department. The main focus of the research was to study of resort resources of the Central Kazakhstan and a physico-chemical properties of the therapeutic muds.
  Since 1964  the chemistry department  c.c.s A.I.Lesnyak, associate professor A.A.Batkov, c.c.s., associate professor Yu.A.Molchanova,  c.m.s., associate professor V.F.Ogarkov, c.c.s. , associate professor B.Z.Kokzhalova was headed.
  Since 2007, professor  Lenina  Michailovna  Vlassova heads of the chemistry course.

The directions of scientific research:- Development of medicinal herbal remedies based on domestic medicinal plant materials.

- Marketing research of the pharmaceutical market

- Social Pharmacy

- Safe synthesis of organic medicinal substances

- Synthesis, structure and biological activity of some phosphorus-containing derivatives of alkaloids.

- Electrochemical behavior of sulfur, rhenium, chromium and copper.

- Integrated processing of carbon waste.

- Quantum-chemical study of molecules of natural compounds.

ThemainachievementsofDepartment:At the department there are 2 doctors of pharmaceutical sciences and 1 doctor of chemical sciences, 1 candidate of biological, 1 pharmaceutical and 5 candidates of chemical sciences, 1 candidate of technical sciences, masters of chemistry and pharmacy.

The faculty of the department is actively conducting methodological and scientific work. In recent years, more than 20 teaching aids on pharmaceutical disciplines and chemistry for students of the specialties "Pharmacy", "Technology of pharmaceutical production", "General Medicine", "Dentistry", "Medical and preventive care."

According to the results of scientific research and problems of education, about 100 published works have been published. There are more than 10 patents for inventions and copyright certificates.

Teachers of the department are actively developing and improving their competencies while studying in the magistracy, doctoral studies, and refresher courses.Students of specialty "Pharmacy", "General Medicine", "Stomatology", "Preventive medicine", "Public Health" , « pharmaceutical production technology»are trained by the department.
Department is a graduate for the Bachelor "pharmacy".

  Teachers of the department are actively involved in conducting educational work among the students and were the curators of the study groups, hostel, heads of student scientific works in different years.
