Comprehensive systematic review completed

17 June 2021

The training on the Comprehensive Systematic Review was completed, in which 31 participants from the Medical Universities of Kazakhstan and Europe took part. The program was provided by JBI, an international research organization based in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Adelaide, South Australia.

The training provided an opportunity for participants to improve their skills in developing protocols for qualitative and quantitative systematic reviews, and all participants began to develop their own systematic review topics. Significantly, attendees gained one-year access to the JBI SUMARI (System for the Unified Management of the Assessment and Review of Information) platform, a web-based application designed to help researchers and practitioners in areas such as health, social and human sciences.

The training is part of the AccelED project (“Accelerating Master and PhD Level Nursing Education Development in the Higher Education System in Kazakhstan”), which is funded by the EU through the Erasmus +, which implements innovative projects to increase capacity and reform higher education.

Karaganda Medical University was represented by Dean of the School of Public Health and Biomedicine Zh.A. Dauletkalieva, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the School of Nursing Education A.R. Aitmagambetov, and PhD students "Public Health" and "Nursing Science" I.B. Meyermanov, F.Kh. Saduyeva, Zh.M. Kuanysh.

Training in a comprehensive systematic review is a great investment for the Medical Universities of Kazakhstan, as it will provide the most convincing evidence for decision making or clinical guidelines in healthcare.

Upon completion of the training, all participants received certificates of participation and expressed a desire to continue working on systematic reviews.
