Tools for the development of communication skills from leading experts in Europe

From June 15-18, 2021, as a part of the Erasmus + program, Project 619037-EPP-1-2020-1-EL-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP "FOstering the doctoR of the 21st century: education for patient-centered communication" (Promoting the development of the 21st century physician: training in the skills of patient-centered communication) European partners was conducted the training "Methodology and tools for the development of the skills of patient-centered communication (virtual patient, standardized patient)" on the development of communication skills.

The purpose of the seminar is to train the academic staff of medical universities consortium methodology for developing the skills of patient-centered communication (virtual patient, standardized patient) and assessing the final results.Leading Speakers of European Universities Terry Poulton, Ella Poulton, Prof. Panagiotis Bamidis, Dr Panagiotis Antoniou, Dr Eleni Dafli have trained partners in the methodology of active learning methods in the educational process (CBL, Flipped learning approach, Developing Patient-Centered Communication Skills) and Vice-Chancellor for Academic Work NCJSC “KMU" Victor Ricklefs  have trained partners in methodology to develop and create clinical scenarios for a virtual patient on the Open Labyrinth platform and a standardized patient.

More than 40 employees from a consortium of nine higher education institutions, Greece, Great Britain, Finland, Russia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan participated in the training.From June 16 to June 18, members of the For21 MUK team Matsievskaya L.L., Kalieva Sh.S., Kemelova G.S., Semenikhina P.S., Aimbetova D.B. took part in sessions with partners to discuss strategies for the development and implementation of virtual cases. 3 days of the seminar were devoted to training, counseling to create the content of the clinical scenario for the virtual patient, and June 25, 2021, a final meeting is scheduled, at which universities must present a ready clinical scenario for further piloting in the educational process.
