Patient-centricity and compliance of child patients and their families
Last week the course of
online professional development (72 hours) for teachers of medical universities and colleges of the Republic
of Kazakhstan "Psychosocial support for children living with HIV and other
chronic diseases" was completed. The training was held under the auspices
of the UN Foundation UNICEF project of the same name, which has been continuing
in Kazakhstan for 3 years.
The project aims to develop patient-centricity, awareness of the disease and adherence to treatment, as well as to increase the rehabilitation potential and quality of life of children suffering from various chronic diseases. The course was conducted by trainers-consultants of UNICEF - teachers of the NJSC "Medical University of Karaganda" Vice-rector for Clinical Work of the NJSC MUK, chief freelance infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, MD, Professor Kosherova Bakhyt Nurgalievna, ass. professors - infectious disease doctor Knaus Anna Alexandrovna and doctor psychiatrist Matsievskaya Larisa Leonardovna. The course included lectures and practical exercises, methodological recommendations for teachers and students of various medical specialties on the topics of HIV infection, tuberculosis, diabetes mellitus, cerebral palsy and early childhood autism.
The teachers studying in the course performed the independent work of the learner creating methodological content for the study of the above disciplines or topics. Feedback questionnaires filled out by teachers demonstrated a high assessment of the training course, its relevance and expediency for improving the quality of pediatric care and the qality of life of children.Associate Professor of the NJSC "Medical University of Karaganda",
