"Soft skills: the necessary skills of a modern effective students and future professionals"

As part of the implementation of the activities of the state program " Рухани жанғыру ", the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social and Political Disciplines, together with the Youth Department of the KMU NCJSC held an online meeting of the methodological seminar " Жаңғыру жолы " on May 4, 2022 on the topic "Soft skills: necessary skills of a modern effective students and future professionals. The moderators of the seminar were S.A. Nikiforova, A.S. Lamanova, O.A. Kovtun, Y.G. Ossintseva.

As before, the geography of the meeting was extensive and assumed a variety of participants. Within the framework of the seminar, students of the Karaganda Medical University and the Karaganda Technical University named after A. Saginova, students of the gymnasium named after Shakarim.

The purpose of this event was to discuss the need for Soft skills of a future professional, not only a doctor, but also any other specialist, in particular. Discuss what qualities are preferred in the modern world, and how this knowledge can be expressed, with what tools to work and help in becoming a professional.

The event was opened by KMU’s compliance-officer A.N. Urmashov. Bondarenko Veronika, a member of the Jewish community center "SHEMASH" and Smagulov Asylan, head of the Assembly of Zhastary Debate League, shared their experience in applying Soft skills, both in professional and private spheres.

The 3rd year students of KMU Lasovetskaya Evgenia and Koroleva Victoria shared their vision of what an effective student of a modern university should be like. Their report was supplemented by Ikonnikova Aida and Makatov Guldan. They presented information obtained in the course of a study aimed at studying motivation among young people.

The presentation of the scientific research of the 1st year students of the KMU NCJSC Konstantinidi Sofia, Saulyan Karina, Freiberg Galina was also interesting. The girls devoted their speech to a very topical issue: The problem of non-critical consumption of information. In the conditions of the modern information society, the ability to work with information is a special kind of activity that requires special skills.

Another bright presentation at the seminar was the report of the 2nd year student A. Kolpakov. In his report, he shared his experience in implementing the project and using entrepreneurial abilities on the example of the state program of per capita financing of the state sports order. In addition to the five already successfully operating projects, there is a plan for the implementation of at least ten more. Such dedication inspires respect and admiration.

Kumar Gourav, Saini Kunal, Sunny Solankey, students of the International Faculty of Medicine, currently in India, did not remain indifferent to this topic and spoke online about the experience of their country to the assembled audience. Specifically, they talked about what skills they needed increased due to the transition to online learning due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Elina Tyo, Bolat Dilnaz, Karpechenkov Kir, Ovyun Elinazur, students of the gymnasium named after Shakarim presented their vision of the topic, and suggested options for using soft skills, not only in professional activities, but also on the path of becoming themselves as a future professional.

Karkesheva Anel and Amianzhol Yernat, students of the Karaganda Technical University, shared their opinion on this issue. As representatives of technical specialties, their point of view was no less interesting. Their use of Soft skills is already yielding results.

All participants of the event noted the high level, cognitive effect and applied significance of the seminar, which contributes to the increase of methodological, professional competence in the field of volunteer movement.

In conclusion, the results were summed up and recommendations of a practical nature were made that can be implemented on the basis of KMU, as well as areas and opportunities for further cooperation were identified. Speakers of the event, moderators and participants of the seminar were awarded certificates.
