Shared experience and prospects at the exhibition

On May 25-27, 2022, the Institute of Public Health and Occupational Health of Karaganda Medical University NJSC took part in the 10th anniversary Kazakhstan International Exhibition and Conference on Occupational Health and Industrial Safety - KIOSH.

For many years, KIOSH has been one of the most effective platforms for discussing occupational safety and health issues in the workplace, which brings together government agencies, business entities, and industry associations.

The conference was held under the motto: "Transformation of labor protection and industrial safety in the context of New Kazakhstan".

In the context of the global crisis, the priority task of the Government remains to maintain a high level of labor protection culture, ensuring the safety and health of workers in industries. An open dialogue and exchange of information between the government, employers, enterprises, workers, health authorities and all interested parties in order to ensure the safety and health of workers is the main task that the KIOSH conference sets for itself.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov at the opening of the strategic session on the topic "Labor protection in the era of transformation: global solutions to ensure social well-being" noted the role of labor protection, social protection measures and the importance of social policy is constantly growing. In the context of New Kazakhstan, public expectations are growing for the introduction of new, more efficient approaches to management, including in ensuring safe work.

The implementation of state policy is aimed at social partnership in the field of social and labor relations, which will become a guarantor of resolving issues of the social and economic interests of workers, observing labor guarantees, and maintaining social stability.

The Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Tamara Duisenova, summing up the work of the strategic session of the conference, said: “The global challenges of the modern world, the events and results of recent years have once again emphasized the importance of social policy with increased emphasis on safety, well-being of people, the role of corporate culture.

Therefore, we have begun updating the labor protection management system, new standards have been introduced into labor legislation regarding the widespread introduction of a systematic approach to labor protection management and occupational risk assessment.”

The Institute of Public Health and Occupational Health is a center that solves the most important issues of preserving the health of the working population of the republic, engaged in research activities in the field of occupational medicine, coordinating the occupational pathology service of Kazakhstan and providing specialized medical care to patients with occupational diseases.

The head of the research sanitary and hygienic laboratory of the Institute of OZiPZ "MUK" NCJSC candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Zharylkasyn Zhenisbek and researcher Mikhail Rusyaev participated in the exhibition, where they presented to the participants the activities of the Institute, the structure, the list of services provided by the organization, methodological recommendations and developments.

Aigul Amanbekova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Chief Occupational Pathologist of the Institute OZiPZ "MUK" NJSC, chief freelance occupational pathologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and presented a report "The state and prospects for the development of the occupational pathology service in the Republic of Kazakhstan."

The round table "Perspectives of industrial medicine at the present stage of development" was devoted to the issues of providing workers of industrial enterprises with medical services, the organization of medical services at remote industrial facilities, the formation of a health protection system at the facility, the training of medical and non-medical personnel at the facility in accordance with international standards, where Dr. .med., professor, chief researcher of the research sanitary and hygienic laboratory of the Institute of OZiPZ "MUK" NCJSC Otarov Ertai with a report: "Medical (hygienic) aspects of the Concept of safe work in the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2030."

Occupational safety is a system for preserving the life and health of workers in the course of their work, which includes not only social and economic, technical measures, but also sanitary-hygienic and therapeutic and preventive measures. Participation in the forum for the Institute of OZiPZ was a significant event, where employees showed their work, shared their experience and perspectives.
