From May 23 to May 27, 2022, Professor Adem Ustyun Chatalbash from Mush Alparslan University, Turkey visited the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social and Political Disciplines of the Karaganda Medical University, as part of the Erasmus + Academic Mobility program.

The professor gave lectures and seminars to the 1st year students of the international faculty in the discipline "Methods of social research" on the topic "Social constructions of the race." The professor touched upon topical issues of racial and religious restrictions, methods of statistical research in various countries. Foreign students noted the importance of the topic and the interesting form of conducting classes.

  In addition to classes, the professor attended a meeting of teachers of the Medical University on the upcoming referendum on amendments to the constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

With particular joy, the professor took part in the meeting of the historical club of the department with a story about travels in Latin America, accompanying his story with interesting photographs and an analysis of the mentality and culture of the peoples of the countries he visited. And there are already 20 countries in his experience! Professor Chatalbash was pleasantly surprised by the fact that medical students attend meetings extracurricular time hours, where they study history and world culture with enthusiasm, and also can travel and explore the natural and historical monuments of the Karaganda region and Kazakhstan. The head of the club A.B. Dolgopolov gifted to the guest his author's work "History of Kazakhstan" in English.

The teachers of the department "History of Kazakhstan and social and political disciplines" organized an excursion and educational program, in which Professor Chatalbash visited all the museums and sightseeings of the city. He was pleasantly surprised that various cultural, historical, entertainment and religious institutions function in Karaganda. The professor was especially impressed by the Karlag museum of political repressions, since its scientific interest is connected with the study of totalitarian and military regimes.

Professor Chatalbash visited the historical museum of the university, with interest listened the history of the formation of our university, and in the center of simulation and educational technologies he was amazed by mannequins and modern equipment for teaching students’ medical skills.

The city of Karaganda and our medical university made an incredible impression on Professor Adem Ustyun Chatalbash. He noted the high preparation of students and the professionalism of the teachers of the department "History of Kazakhstan and social and political disciplines", as well as the hospitality of Karaganda residents.
