On November 23, 2022, on the basis of the Regional Allergological Center "Divera" by the staff of the Department of Internal Diseases of Karaganda Medical University NCJSC a seminar was held (tutorial) devoted to the issues of treatment of allergic diseases. Clinical mentor Begimova Svetlana and assistant professor Izmailovich Marina made presentations. Residents of allergy and immunology in the 1^st and 2^nd year of training, teaching staff of the Department of Internal Diseases, doctors allergologists-immunologists of OAC "Divera" and health centers of the Karaganda city attended as participants.

Begimova Svetlana in her report described the problems of allergies, ways to solve these issues, and new possibilities for treatment. At the beginning of the speech, Begimova Svetlana shared statistical data about the prevalence of allergic diseases worldwide and in the Karaganda region in particular, noting socio-demographic indicators and the prevalence of patient's clinical symptoms.

 The following report was devoted to the discussion of allergen-specific immunotherapy (SIT). Marina Izmailovich reminded the seminar participants about the indications, contraindications, methods and mechanisms of SIT. The doctor analyzed the indications and contraindications for performing SIT. Marina Izmailovich noted that the final decision to perform SIT should be based on a complete analysis of the specific patient's condition, such as his co-morbidities, all pharmacotherapy prescriptions, along with assessment of the risk-benefit ratio for specific patient. Dr. Izmailovich summarized that SIT is an effective method of treatment of allergic rhinitis and bronchial asthma. Doctor explained that SIT reduces symptoms, allows decreasing the amount of pharmacotherapy and has a prolonged effect. Moreover, she focused in detail on the goals and advantages of SIT.
