Development of collaboration to support evidence-based nursing in Kazakhstan

In the period from February 7 to 9, Astana Medical University hosted a round table aimed at Developing collaboration to support evidence-based nursing in Kazakhstan. The roundtable was organized by Karaganda Medical University and Jamk University of Applied Sciences, within the framework of the AccelEd project, which is co-funded by the EU through Erasmus +.

The purpose of this event was to start a discussion about joining JBI organizations (more JBI https://jbi.global), to emphasize the relevance and benefits of opening a center in Kazakhstan. In addition, the round table raised the issue of open science and contributed to the launch of a single repository for the development of nursing science in Kazakhstan. To date, the AccelEd project team is working on joining JBIC and opening a repository in Kazakhstan.

Experts from Australia, China, Finland, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Kazakhstan took part in the round table. The experts shared their experience of working in the JBIC centers of excellence, as well as the experience of working with repositories in Europe and Kazakhstan. Director of the Institute of Public Health and Occupational Health B.K. Omarkulov in his speech announced the main functions and directions of the future center. Assistant Professor of the School of Nursing Education A.R. Aitmagambetov presented the necessary steps for joining the JBIC.
