From August 31 to September 3, 2014 the annual Conference of Association of Medical Education in Europe AMEE 2014 took place in Milan (Italy). The conference brought together more than 3500 participants from different countries of Europe and the world including 6 delegates from Karaganda State Medical University. They are R. S. Dosmagambetova, A.Z. Muratova, Sh. S. Kaliyeva, V.P. Riklefs, B. K.  Koychubekov and R. H. Begaydarova. At the conference Kazakhstan was also represented by the delegates from JSC "Astana Medical University" and Nazarbayev University School of Medicine.

The interprofessional training, students selection to study in medical school, simulation technology, e-learning, team training, students evaluation at the workplace, teachers potential development, international cooperation and health education based on the outcomes achievement were the main topics of the conference. KSMU the oral report about the implementation of the objective structured clinical examination (V.P. Riklefs) and 5 poster reports about students research competence in the course of the subjects study - "Physiology" (A.Z. Muratova) and "Biostatistics " (B. K.  Koychubekov), the research of training styles of students and productivity of training according to progressive testing (R. S. Dosmagambetova), Implementation of training on clinical cases in the teaching of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (R. H. Begaydarova), interprofessional internship education (Sh. S. Kaliyeva). Kaliyeva and Riklefs participated together with the partners of qmu within the Tempus projects from Great Britain, Greece and Georgia as moderators when holding seminars on introduction of virtual patients and transformation of educational programs.

The particular interest was caused by the visit of the exhibition of leading companies in the field of training technologies in medical education presenting the software products for visual human anatomy studying, for student electronic portfolio management, researches planning, integrated teaching of the basic subjects and simulation training.

During the conference the delegates had a great opportunity to communicate to their colleagues from leading European and American medical schools. The current issues of medical education and the perspectives of future cooperation were discussed.
