On October 27, an excursion “Orientation week” for pupils of the 10 and 11 grades of Saran secondary school №1 was organized in Karaganda State Medical University. Accompanied by supervising teachers, children were able to see with their own eyes "homeland" of all the doctors and to be in the ranks of students.

Since there were a lot of curious pupils (40 people), we had to divide them into 2 groups. The first group went to the anatomical museum of the Department of Anatomy, where teachers made the pupils aware of the department history, showed them exhibits and told about an organism structure in general. The second group together with the head of scientific sector of the committee of student’s self-government went over the 1^st KSMU building, where they got acquainted with the university foundation story, heard the story about the legendary persons who put the heart and soul in medicine and about the opportunities of university. The children could directly assure themselves that the specialists of the noblest profession are taught here. The guests were acquainted with the history and work of each department of the building. The special attention was drawn by the center of practical skills, where the students can practice their skills under the watchful supervision of teachers who, in their turn, guide students to the correct solution of a problem. A special place for students’ pride is the stands such as «Көшбасшыстуденттер», «Ерекшешәкіртақыиегерлері» и «Ғылымидарындар». 

The pupils also received the detailed information on the university faculties and specialties.

After the excursion the groups thanked the department of educational and social work with students and teachers for organization. In general, emphasizing the interest of students for their future profession, it is possible to confidently say that our youth have hunger for knowledge and want to bring benefit to the people and the country.
