On November  27-29 the III Congress of the National Association of phthisiologists with international participation on the issue of "Modern directions of development of phthisiology: scientific research and practical experience in the fight against tuberculosis was held in St. Petersburg." Priority was given to interdisciplinary approaches in the phthisiology.

Round table discussions were conducted according to the program of the congress, schools, workshops and symposia on tuberculosis. At one of the workshops, "Morphological diagnosis and pathogenesis of tuberculosis at immunodeficiencies" Professor M.M.Tusupbekova was invited as a co-chairman.

A gala night opening of the III-rd Congress of the National Association of phthisiatricians of Russia with international participation was held on the second day, where a programmed article "Antituberculosis programs of Russia: Results and Prospects" was made by the President of the National Association of phthisiology, chief of thoracic surgery and Tuberculosis, Health Ministry of Russian federation, Director of St. Petersburg research Institute of Phthisiopulmonology, d.m.s. professor P.K. Yablonsky

The following people participated in the scientific Congress from our university: the head of the Department of Pathological Anatomy and Forensic Medicine, d.m.s., professor M.M. Tusupbekova made an oral report, residents of the department L.M. Stabaeva, G.N. Imanbaeva who have submitted poster presentations. After the III Congress of the National Association of phthisiologists of Russia the results of scientific forum were summed up, prospects of development of Phthisiopulmonology. The participants were given certificates.
