Within the framework of the "Debate of Ideas" meeting organized by the French Institute for Central Asian Studies (IFEAC, https://ifeac .hypotheses.org /) with the support of the Embassy of France in Kazakhstan and the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute (ISK), we invite you to take part in the discussion on the topic:

"French studies of Central Asia: participants and current state".

- Yugo ESTEKAANDI (Doctoral student at Paris-8 University, IFEAC Fellow in 2023) "Geopolitical problems of cryptocurrencies and their mining (Siberia/Central Asia)"

- Adrien HUGUET (Associate Researcher at IFEAC) "German and French Cultural Diplomacy in the Russian Federation"

- Evgenia STOKLE (Doctoral student, ULB, IFEAC Fellow in 2022) "The relationship between climate change, water resources management and the potential threat of conflict / cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan around the Syr Darya River"

After a brief presentation of their work, the participants will continue the discussion on the topic of current research in Central Asia.

The moderator will be Xavier LE TORRIVELLEC, Doctor of the Higher School of Social Sciences (EHESS).

The meeting will take place on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute (Kazbek Bi str., 28, Almaty), beginning at 18h00. The working language of the event is Russian.
