On June 5, 2020, the
International Online Conference on Education "MODERN CHALLENGES OF MEDICAL
EDUCATION IN PANDEMIC: EXPERIENCE IN
QUICK DECISION-MAKING AND STRATEGIC INITIATIVES" was held at the Karaganda
Medical University.

The medical education conference
was attended by Star Speakers from partner universities: Chen Zhi Xiong
(National University of Singapore), Zalim Balkizov (official representative of
AMEE, deputy chairman of the board of ASMOK, Russia), Rano Yuldasheva (Dean of Bukhara State Medical Institute, Uzbekistan )
Ilya Shekter (Director, Patient Safety Center, Jackson Hospital, Miami, USA),
Tanya Kitova (assistant professor at the Medical University of Plovdiv,
Bulgaria), Elmira Kelimberdieva (assistant professor at the Department of
General Medical Practice and course of
evidence-based medicine, Astana Medical University), Natalya Balashkevich
(Assistant of the Department of Family Medicine, Semey Medical University).

The main topics
discussed were:
1. Problems, solutions
and prospects of distance medical education
2. The effectiveness of
the assessment of practical skills in lockdown

during and after a pandemic
4. The
internationalization of medical education in the lockdown

The conference was held
on the platform of MS Teams with the more
than 500 participants from Singapore, USA, Bulgaria, Russia, Uzbekistan,
Tajikistan, Lithuania, Jordan, Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
All participants noted the relevance of the topics discussed, the high
professionalism of the speakers and the clear organization of the conference.
