Department of scientific editing

Department of scientific editing of Karaganda State Medical University is a subdivision exercising professional editorial ensuring of publishing activities of the KSMU.

Department of scientific editing of Karaganda State Medical University was organized on the 1 of September, 2015. Continuing the tradition of publishing department functioned from 1996 to 2011, which had been headed at various times by Ye. S. Numerova and L. N. Zhuravlyova, the target mission of scientific editing department is to provide the high-quality prepress editing and proofreading, as well as the issue of the scientific literature, the control of scientific and literary publications and content quality of their decoration; regular publication of quarterly scientific journal «Medicine and Ecology»; release of collections of scientific papers on the materials of scientific-methodological and scientific-practical conferences, in accordance with the thematic plan of the scientific literature publication; the distribution of the quarterly scientific journal «Medicine and Ecology» in internet resources, national and international databases.

The main functions of the department of scientific editing are the organization and implementation of editorial activities of the university; organization of editing and production of scientific literature, the monitoring of scientific and literary content of publications and the quality of their decoration; reception and registration of incoming manuscripts, the implementation of the review of author's applications, trial reading of the manuscripts; regular pre-press editorial and production- publishing preparation of the quarterly scientific journal «Medicine and Ecology» for the release in the form of editing and proofreading; organization of reception, proofreading, review and layout of articles for the release of collections of scientific papers on the materials of scientific-methodological and scientific conferences; organization of quality control of published literature; analysis of the implementation of editorial activity; consulting of authors, executive secretaries, members of the editorial boards of the collections and periodicals on the questions of preparation of manuscripts for submission to the department, the questions of editing and peer-review; moderating of journal pages on the corporate website of the university, the implementation of its permanent filling; the distribution of the quarterly scientific journal «Medicine and Ecology» in on-line resources, databases (national and international); creation and moderation of the page and group of quarterly scientific journal «Medicine and Ecology» in social networks.

Currently, the department of scientific editing includes the following staff: Ye. S. Serbo – the head of scientific editing department, Ye. A. Kuznetsova – the English editor, T. M. Yermekbayev – the Kazakh editor, L. V. Serbo – the editor.
