Widening the boundaries of scientific cooperation

VIII International Congress WORLD of ASTHMA, ALLERGY & COPD FORUM was carried out in Singapore, on 26 - 29 of April, 2015.  The representatives from more than 55 countries took part in the congress.  Head of the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, professor R.H. Begaydarova represented Karaganda State Medical University. The scientific program of the congress included the plenary workshops, the thematic symposia, theposter sessions for practitioners, schools for young professionals. The discussion of poster reports was included to the program of the Congress in parallel. Participants from around the world took part in the workshops, who are actively discussed topical issues in medicine and allergy immunorehabilitation, the exchange of experience took place on various aspects of clinical research.

The reports of the co-chairs of the World Allergy Organization (WAO) Professor Walter Canonica from Italy and Allen Kaplan, a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ASAAI) and  Kamal Maurice Hanna, professor of Cairo University, Egypt, and Hasan Huseyn Akkurt, professorof the Institute for Medical pulmonology from Ankara, drew interest among the audience. The speeches of Ruby Pawankar, professor of Medical School (Tokyo), Rudolf Valenta (Austria), A.M.Kurmanova (Almaty), G.G.Kuttykuzhanova (Almaty), Irina Balmanova (Moscow), Tahia Panahova (Azerbaijan) was particularly memorable. 

A report of the professor R.H. Begaydarova on topic «Prevalence of alleles HLAB*5701 in HIV-infected children of Asian ethnicity in some regions of «Kazakhstan» aroused the great interest. The presented results of the research of scientists of KSMU attracted the interest of members of Congress. Interest in this report was due to the fact that a study to identify alleles HLA- B * 5701 in an Asian population have not been conducted. The study PREDICT-1 (2008) indicated that the presence of HLA-B * 5701 allele is associated with increased risk of developing hypersensitivity to abacavir, regardless of race. R.H. Begaydarova gave full and complete replies  on  questions from panelists.

Dates of Congress coincided with the election of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the participants from Kazakhstan - Professor R.H. Begaydarova, G.G. Kuttykuzhanova A.M. Kurmanova, N.T. Baltabekov, took an active part in the presidential elections and voted in the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Singapore.
