Euthanasia: Pros and Cons
The issue of euthanasia has always been controversial,
it was considered from two sides - legality and humanity. And if de-facto is
getting rid of torment, then de-jure is a crime. In Kazakhstan, the termination
of the life of a person suffering from an incurable disease and experiencing
unbearable suffering is prohibited by law. “Euthanasia: Pros and Cons” on this
topic, an online debate was held on the Teams platform, organized by the
Department of Internal Medicine of the Medical University of Karaganda.
The fourth year students of the specialty "General Medicine" and the teachers of the department who participated in the debates expressed their opinions, gave vivid examples, arguments from world practice, discussed the pros and cons of the euthanasia procedure. At the end of the event, the participants agreed that the topic of euthanasia is complex and controversial and cannot be solved within the framework of one discussion.
