Considered issues of medical rehabilitation and active longevity

The first week of September of the academic year at the Medical University of Karaganda was marked by the organization of an international scientific and practical conference: "Cognitive disorders: priority areas in diagnosis, therapy and prevention. Geriatric patient: active longevity".

The conference was opened by Aukenov Nurlan Yerdenovich, PhD, Head of the Department of Medical Science and New Technologies of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Vice-Rector for Academic Work Toleubekov Kuatbek Kuanyshbekovich.

The first report was made by the chief specialist of Department of Health of the Karaganda region Kanafina Alma Kanafievna on the topic "The program "Active longevity in the Republic of Kazakhstan" at the present stage.

Speakers from Kazakhstan, Russia, USA, Ukraine, Finland, Australia touched upon important topics in the field of active longevity in Kazakhstan and in the world, issues of opening gerontological offices.  The peculiarities of geriatric medicine in the USA, Lithuania and the Republic of Belarus were considered.

Special attention was paid to the discussion of cognitive disorders and the development of preventive and therapeutic methods of cognitive rehabilitation, the use of occupational therapy in neuro-geriatrics, art therapy, the peculiarities of myrrherapy, occupational therapy for geriatric patients. Issues of nursing support in the rehabilitation of the elderly.

A school of young scientists was organized within the framework of the conference. PhD doctoral, master's and bachelor's students made interesting reports. The actual reports of the participants caused positive emotions among the audience and the jury, and the participants were recognized by awarding diplomas of I, II, III degrees.
