On December 11, 2023, Government Decree No. 1105 approved the Development Program of the NCJSC “Karaganda Medical University” for 2024-2028. The goal of the Program is to develop NCJSC “KMU” as a world-class research university through the integration and development of its educational and research activities. To achieve the goal, ambitious tasks have been set, including anticipatory staffing through strengthening the integration of education, research and practice, increasing the efficiency and quality of research within the framework of the innovative development model, strengthening the innovative potential of the university's human capital, ensuring sustainable development and social orientation of the university’s activities at the regional, national and international levels.

The status of a research university, obtained in 2019, allows NCJSC “KMU” to continue transferring experience in conducting scientific research and introducing the principles of integration of research, education and practice for the development of biomedical science and medical education in Kazakhstan and beyond.

This year, the implementation of the University Development Program for 2019-2023, approved by the Government Decree of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 453 of June 27, 2019 has completed. During this five-year period, many successes have been achieved thanks to the active contribution of the university’s staff and students.
