On February 15, the countries of the former Soviet Union celebrate Afghanistan Withdrawal Day. Soviet soldiers in the DRA resisted the advance of international terrorism and drug trafficking to the borders of the then common country. Today, 33 years later, it is a day of mourning and remembrance of all fallen soldiers-internationalists and a holiday of Afghan veterans.

The collective of military department of Medical University of Karaganda took an active part in the events devoted to the Memory Day of soldiers-internationalists.

On the same day at the secondary general school 16 of Karaganda city the events devoted to the memory of soldiers-internationalists were held. Retired Lieutenant Colonel Talap Bazarbaevich Yelemesov, Senior Lecturer, Head of Military Department, took part in the event devoted to withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.

There is the participant of Afghan war, Commander of the Order "For Service to the Motherland in the Armed Forces of the USSR" III degree, retired colonel of medical service Baltynov Gabdulla Zaidanovich, who received congratulations and wishes of the participants of the lesson of courage among the teachers of the military department.
